3.3 — Building Your AI Ecommerce Empire — Capstone Project
Building Your AI Ecommerce Empire — Capstone Project
You've learned the tools: AI product research, copywriting, image generation, chatbots, pricing intelligence, review analysis, ad optimization, and SEO. Now comes the hardest part: orchestrating it all into a profitable business. In this capstone lesson, you'll design a complete ecommerce business—from product selection through scale—using AI at every step. By the end, you'll have a detailed 90-day launch plan and a validation that your idea has real potential.
The Capstone Challenge
You will:
- Select a winning product (using Lesson 1.1 methods)
- Validate demand (using market research + AI analysis)
- Create all marketing assets (using AI tools from Lessons 1-3)
- Launch on Daraz (or Shopify)
- Run a micro-campaign (PKR 2,000-5,000 test ad spend)
- Analyze results (using analytics + AI)
- Scale if winning (repeat what worked)
Phase 1: Product Selection & Validation (Week 1-2)
Step 1: Brainstorm 5 Product Ideas
Choose ONE category you're interested in (fashion, electronics, home, fitness, beauty). Brainstorm 5 potential products using AI.
Prompt:
DARAZ PRODUCT BRAINSTORM
Category: [Your category, e.g., "home organization"]
Budget: PKR [Your max inventory budget, e.g., 50,000]
Target: Pakistan (Karachi/Lahore primary)
Brainstorm 5 high-potential products that:
1. Have consistent year-round demand (not seasonal only)
2. Have low competition on Daraz (can actually rank)
3. Have healthy margins (40%+ profit potential)
4. Are sourced locally or from AliExpress (accessible)
5. Appeal to Pakistani buyers (relevant, priced in PKR)
For each product, provide:
- Product name
- Estimated cost to source (local/AliExpress)
- Estimated retail price on Daraz
- Target buyer profile
- Why it's winning (based on Daraz trends)
- Estimated monthly demand (units/month)
Format as a table ranked by opportunity score (1-5).
Output: 5 products ranked by opportunity.
Step 2: Validate Demand (Top 3 products)
For your top 3 ideas, do quick validation:
- Daraz search test: Open Daraz, search the product. Count top 20 listings. Which have 100+ reviews? (Proxy for demand)
- Google Trends: Search on trends.google.com. Is demand rising or stable?
- Competitor analysis: Check top 5 Daraz sellers. What price are they at? What's their rating?
Validation template (Google Sheet):
| Product | Daraz Listings (100+ reviews) | Google Trends | Top 5 Avg Price | Avg Rating | Go/No-Go |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Product A | 12 | Rising | PKR 4,200 | 4.3/5 | GO |
| Product B | 3 | Flat | PKR 8,900 | 3.9/5 | NO-GO |
| Product C | 7 | Rising | PKR 6,500 | 4.1/5 | GO |
Decision rule: If your product passes 3/4 criteria, it's a GO.
Step 3: Final Product Selection
Pick 1 product. This is your capstone focus.
Phase 2: Asset Creation (Week 2-3)
Asset 1: Daraz Listing (using Lessons 1.2 + 3.2)
Create a complete, AI-optimized Daraz listing:
Title (60 chars): Use your target keyword (from Lesson 3.2) Description (300 words): Pain-benefit-proof-CTA structure (use Lesson 1.2 prompt) Bullet points (6): Benefit-first (use Lesson 1.2 template) Images (5): Using AI image generation (Lesson 1.3)
Checklist:
- Title includes main keyword + benefit
- Description tells a story (relatable, not robotic)
- Bullet points are benefit-first (not specs)
- Images are professional (white background + lifestyle shot)
- Price is competitively validated
- FAQs address common objections
- Guarantee/warranty is stated (builds trust)
Deliverable: Screenshot of your complete Daraz listing draft (ready to post).
Asset 2: Facebook Ad Creatives (using Lesson 3.1)
Create 3 ad variations:
- Ad 1 (Benefit-driven): "Solves the customer painpoint"
- Ad 2 (Emotional): "Connects emotionally; aspirational"
- Ad 3 (Social proof): "Urgency + proof + competitive edge"
Checklist:
- Each ad has distinct copy angle
- Images are professional (AI-generated or real)
- CTA is clear (Shop Now / Order Today / Learn More)
- Audience targeting is defined (age, location, interests)
- Budget per ad is set (PKR 1,500-2,000/day)
Deliverable: Screenshots of 3 ad designs (Facebook Ads Manager draft or mockup).
Asset 3: AI Chatbot Knowledge Base (using Lesson 2.1)
Create a customer service chatbot knowledge base with 10 FAQs.
Template:
Q: "Delivery time?"
A: "Within 48 hours Karachi/Lahore; 3-7 days other cities. You'll get a tracking SMS."
Q: "Is it original?"
A: "100% original. [Your guarantee]. 30-day money-back if unsatisfied."
... (8 more FAQs)
Deliverable: Google Doc with 10 Q&A pairs, ready to plug into Make.com or Chatbase.
Phase 3: Launch & Testing (Week 3-4)
Launch Step 1: Post to Daraz
- Create Daraz seller account (if you don't have one)
- Input your listing
- Upload images
- Set price and inventory
- Publish
Checklist:
- Listing is live and searchable
- Images are high-quality
- Shipping is set correctly (COD, timing)
- Price matches your market analysis
Launch Step 2: Run Ad Test
- Create Facebook Business Account (if needed)
- Build 3 ads in Ads Manager
- Set budget to PKR 2,000/day total (PKR 650/ad)
- Run for 5-7 days (PKR 10,000-14,000 total)
- Track clicks, conversions, ROAS
Tracking template (daily updates):
| Date | Ad | Spend | Impressions | Clicks | CTR | CPC | Conversions | ROAS |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 3/25 | Ad 1 | 650 | 485 | 12 | 2.5% | 54 | 2 | 2.1x |
| 3/25 | Ad 2 | 650 | 512 | 18 | 3.5% | 36 | 3 | 3.1x |
| 3/25 | Ad 3 | 650 | 405 | 8 | 2.0% | 81 | 1 | 1.2x |
Phase 4: Analysis & Decision (Week 4)
Analysis Step 1: Ad Performance
After 5-7 days, pause the worst-performing ad. Scale the best-performing ad.
Decision framework:
- ROAS > 3x: Scale (double budget)
- ROAS 2-3x: Hold (maintain budget; test new angle)
- ROAS < 2x: Kill (pause; try new creative)
Analysis Step 2: Daraz Sales
How many orders did you get?
Calculation:
- Orders from ads: X
- Orders from Daraz organic: Y
- Total orders: X + Y
- Conversion rate: (X+Y) / Ad clicks
- Profit per order: Price - Cost - Daraz commission (15%) - Shipping - Returns (est. 5%)
Example:
- Orders from ads: 12 (from 150 clicks = 8% conversion)
- Orders from Daraz organic: 3 (from search; free)
- Total: 15 orders
- Cost: PKR 2,500 (source)
- Selling price: PKR 5,999
- Profit per order: 5,999 - 2,500 - 900 (Daraz 15%) - 300 (shipping) = PKR 2,299
- Total profit: 15 × 2,299 = PKR 34,485
- Total ad spend: PKR 10,000
- Net profit (Week 1): PKR 34,485 - 10,000 = PKR 24,485
- ROI: 245%
Analysis Step 3: Customer Feedback
Review all customer messages and feedback:
- What are customers asking about?
- What complaints do you see?
- What praise stands out?
Use Lesson 2.3 (review analysis) to synthesize insights.
Phase 5: Scale Plan (Week 5+)
If your capstone passed validation (positive ROI + customer enthusiasm), create a 12-week scale plan:
Weeks 5-8 (Scale Ads):
- Winning ad budget: PKR 2,000/day (up from PKR 650)
- Test 2 new ad angles (keep winning ad running)
- Expected: 3-5x daily revenue increase
Weeks 9-12 (Optimize Everything):
- Use customer feedback to improve listing (better photos, clearer description)
- Implement chatbot (automate 80% of questions)
- Optimize pricing (if demand exceeds supply, raise price 5-10%)
- Expand to Shopify (long-term organic traffic)
Financial projection (12 weeks):
- Week 1-4 (test): PKR 24,485 profit
- Week 5-8 (scale): PKR 125,000 profit (estimated; 5x week 1)
- Week 9-12 (optimize): PKR 200,000 profit (estimated; improved margins + higher conversion)
- Total 12-week profit: PKR 349,485 (from PKR 50,000 initial inventory budget)
