Generated imagery becomes client-ready only after factual, visual, rights and layout review. Canva can assemble and edit assets, but a polished frame does not repair an inaccurate product, unauthorized face or broken visual detail.
Use a Four-Pass Finish
Truth pass: compare product shape, quantity, people, location, symbols and claims with the brief. Reject material errors instead of hiding them.
Artifact pass: inspect edges, hands, reflections, repeated objects, texture, shadows and compression at full size.
Layout pass: rebuild text as editable elements, use a grid, preserve safe areas and create a clear hierarchy. Check contrast and alternative text where the channel supports it.
Delivery pass: verify dimensions, color needs, export settings, file naming, source/editability and rights/provenance notes.
Keep the original generated file and a separate edited version. Destructive edits should never erase the comparison evidence.
Worked Example
An AI image for a skincare post shows a jar with an invented label. The designer removes the false product rather than “fixing” the text, places an approved client photograph into the composition, corrects the shadow, and typesets the actual product name and required disclaimer as editable text.
Mobile review shows the small disclaimer is unreadable. The hierarchy is revised before export. The final folder includes editable Canva access under the agreed terms, PNG exports, the approved product photo and a provenance note for the background.
Use a duplicate of the approved layout for resizing. Reflow type and imagery for each aspect ratio instead of stretching the original. Record which versions were actually approved; a client should not assume every auto-resized draft has passed the same checks.
Failure Cases to Diagnose
- Painting over a major factual error instead of rejecting the asset.
- Leaving essential text inside pixels.
- Applying filters that alter the real product color.
- Exporting before checking mobile crop and contrast.
- Sharing edit access that exposes unrelated client assets.
- Assuming Canva library content has identical rights in every context.
🇵🇰 Pakistan Angle
Check low-data versions and common Android screens. For print, ask the printer for dimensions, bleed, color and PDF requirements instead of assuming a social template will work. Review Urdu ligatures and mixed-direction layouts with a fluent reader.
Keep the client approval proof small enough to review over mobile data, but export production files only after the correct version is confirmed in writing.
Hands-On Exercise
- Select one authorized generated image.
- Complete the four-pass checklist.
- Replace embedded text with editable type.
- Test desktop, mobile and one intended export.
- Package source, final files and provenance note.
Completion Rubric
- Major factual errors are rejected, not disguised.
- Text remains editable and legible.
- Product color and details stay accurate.
- Intended device/export is tested.
- Source, rights and versions are documented.

Key takeaway: Manual finishing is the accountable process that turns an authorized AI experiment into an accurate, editable and deliverable design.
