Productized pricing means selling a defined video outcome—such as four edited shorts per month—instead of presenting the client with an open-ended number of working hours. The hours still matter inside your calculation, but the client buys named deliverables, a delivery schedule, revision limits, and agreed usage rights.
By the end, you will have a three-tier package sheet in PKR and USD. It uses your costs, not copied rates; every number below is sample arithmetic.
// concept
Build the Cost Floor Before Choosing a Price
Your cost floor covers the package and predictable problems. Calculate it privately for each tier; do not turn the internal hourly cost into an hourly client quote.
Production labour = production hours × internal hourly cost
Base cost = allocated tool cost + production labour + admin/QA labour + outside assets
Contingency = base cost × contingency rate
Cost floor = base cost + contingency + expected payment/FX charges
Package quote = cost floor ÷ (1 - target gross-margin rate)Price these five drivers before naming a package:
| Driver | Question to answer | Cost or contract effect |
|---|---|---|
| Scope | How many videos, versions, ratios, captions, thumbnails, and source files? | More outputs add production and QA time. |
| Complexity | Does the client supply a finished script and footage, or do you research, script, generate voice, source B-roll, and animate? | Count the stages you actually own. |
| Rights | Organic posting only, or paid ads? Which channels, territory, and duration? Is editable project-file delivery included? | License only what you can transfer; price expanded usage separately. |
| Revisions | How many review rounds, by what deadline, and what counts as a revision? | Define a round as one consolidated feedback list. New concepts are new scope. |
| Tools and vendors | Which subscriptions, stock licenses, voice services, generation credits, or contractors are used for this client? | Allocate the relevant share; confirm current vendor prices and plan rights. |
Track two projects before trusting your labour estimate, including admin and generation retries. Allocate shared tools consistently rather than charging every client their full cost.

Turn Scope Into Three Comparable Packages
Make each tier comparable by quantity, production responsibility, review access, rights, and delivery—not vague labels such as “more premium.”
| Package-sheet field | Starter | Standard | Campaign |
|---|---|---|---|
| Deliverables | 4 shorts, one format | 8 shorts, two formats | 12 shorts, two formats + 4 cut-downs |
| Production input | Client supplies approved scripts and footage | Script polish, voice, B-roll, captions | Script development, voice, mixed generated/licensed visuals, captions |
| Review rounds | 1 consolidated round | 2 consolidated rounds | 2 rounds + storyboard approval |
| Timeline | 7 business days after inputs | Weekly batch delivery | Agreed campaign calendar |
| Included rights | Organic social, agreed brand channels | Organic social, agreed brand channels | Named campaign channels and term |
| Excluded unless added | Paid ads, raw/project files, new concept | Paid ads, raw/project files, reshoots | Perpetual/all-media rights, extra language, new concept |
| Cost floor | PKR [calculate] | PKR [calculate] | PKR [calculate] |
| Client-facing PKR quote | PKR [enter] | PKR [enter] | PKR [enter] |
| Planning FX rate and date | [enter once] | [same dated rate] | [same dated rate] |
| Client-facing USD quote | USD [calculate] | USD [calculate] | USD [calculate] |
These are sample scopes. A revision corrects the approved concept; a changed offer, audience, script direction, or visual concept is a paid change request with a new deadline.
For the two currency columns, select one dated planning rate from your bank or the State Bank of Pakistan page and keep the rate in a private worksheet:
USD display quote = PKR package quote ÷ planning PKR-per-USD rate
Final USD quote = rounded display quote + disclosed payment/FX buffer, if you absorb itState the invoice currency, who pays transfer/platform charges, and how long the proposal remains valid. Do not charge more merely because a client is foreign; charge for actual added management, currency risk, platform fees, rights, or complexity.
// concept
Set Terms for the Client Type
For a direct Pakistani client, quote in PKR unless agreed otherwise. Write down the advance or first milestone, balance date, payment route, tax treatment, and how late inputs move delivery. Confirm current wallet limits and business-payment features in the provider’s official help.
For a direct international client, use a USD proposal and invoice. State fee responsibility and ask the receiving bank about current freelancer-account documentation. For a marketplace client, keep the scope, funded milestones, submissions, and payments inside the contract. Upwork’s official guidance says to agree deliverables, deadlines, feedback, and revisions before work begins; recheck the current rule.
// worked_example
Worked Example
This is a hypothetical sample, not a market benchmark. A Lahore editor prices eight 45-second shorts for a clothing seller: client-supplied facts, script polish, licensed B-roll, captions, two aspect ratios, and two revision rounds. Three months of organic social use is included; paid ads and project files are not.
Sample internal calculation:
| Cost item | Sample working |
|---|---|
| Tool and licensed-asset allocation | PKR 12,000 |
| Production labour | 22 hours × PKR 2,000 = PKR 44,000 |
| Admin and QA | 6 hours × PKR 2,000 = PKR 12,000 |
| Base cost | PKR 68,000 |
| Contingency | 10% × PKR 68,000 = PKR 6,800 |
| Cost floor | PKR 74,800 |
| Quote at sample 30% target margin | 74,800 ÷ 0.70 = PKR 106,857; rounded proposal: PKR 107,000 |
For arithmetic only, use a sample rate of PKR 280 per USD—not a current rate claim: 107,000 ÷ 280 = USD 382.14. Replace 280 with a current dated reference and add any disclosed payment buffer before quoting.
Bad → fixed comparison: “Eight premium AI videos, unlimited revisions, full rights, fast delivery—PKR 60,000” is below this sample floor and leaves the key terms undefined. Replace it with this proposal:
Fixed sample proposal:
Standard Short-Video Package — SAMPLE
Deliverables: 8 edited videos, up to 45 seconds each, 9:16 and 1:1 exports
Inputs: client-approved product facts and brand files; script polish included
Review: 2 rounds; each round is one consolidated feedback document
Schedule: 2 videos per week after all inputs and first payment are received
Rights: organic use on the client's named social accounts for 3 months
Excluded: paid ads, source/project files, reshoots, new concepts, extra languages
Price: PKR 107,000; payment schedule stated in the signed proposal
Change requests: quoted in writing before extra work beginsIf the client later requests paid ads, the editor checks every asset licence and issues a change order for expanded rights, replacement assets, and related work.

Failure Cases to Diagnose
6 cases to diagnose
Copied marketplace number
it has no connection to your costs or rights. Research current listings for packaging language, then use your own worksheet.
Unlimited revisions
the client can repeatedly change direction without a new fee or deadline. Replace it with numbered rounds, consolidated feedback, and a change-request rule.
“Full rights” with no asset audit
stock, music, voice, or generated-media terms may block transfer. Record each licence and narrow the grant.
Every subscription charged in full
one client is billed for tools also used elsewhere. Allocate costs consistently, but charge client-specific credits or licenses directly.
USD quote with silent deductions
fees leave the receipt below the floor. Name the invoice currency, fee responsibility, and validity window.
Outcome-based sales claim
the package promises views, leads, or sales that production cannot control. Promise only deliverables, quality checks, schedule, and review access.

Pakistan Angle
Keep the proposal, invoice, receipt, exchange-rate reference, and bank credit advice. FBR registration and filing requirements depend on the person and business, so never copy a tax percentage from social media. Check current FBR guidance and have a qualified Pakistani adviser confirm income tax, provincial sales tax on services, withholding, and export documentation for your setup.
For foreign receipts, ask an authorised bank about the current SBP freelancer-account and foreign-exchange process. For local bank, JazzCash, or easypaisa transfers, confirm that current business limits fit the invoice and verify settlement rather than trusting a screenshot. Pakistani clients may approve through WhatsApp; summarise scope, rights, revisions, tax handling, and dates in one accepted proposal because scattered voice notes are not a usable contract record.
// hands_on
Hands-On Exercise
6 steps
Build your own three-tier PKR/USD package sheet:
Define a repeatable unit: number and length of videos, aspect ratios, input responsibility, and delivery rhythm.
Estimate production, admin, and QA hours for Starter, Standard, and Campaign separately.
Add allocated tools, client-specific assets, contingency, and expected payment/FX charges to find each cost floor.
Apply your chosen margin formula; record the dated PKR-per-USD planning rate and proposal-validity period.
Fill every package row: deliverables, timeline, review rounds, usage rights, exclusions, PKR quote, and USD quote.
Add local-direct, international-direct, and marketplace payment terms.
